The Victoria Quilters' Guild donates dozens of quilts per year to the neo-natal unit of Victoria General Hospital.   In 2009, the committee delivered over 420 quilts to the Victoria General Hospital. These quilts were made by guild members from kits made up by the volunteer committee.

Members Role - As a guild member, we hope that you will make one* baby quilt a year to meet the needs of the hospital.  Any guild member can sign out quilt bundles to be completed for this worthy cause. The bundles include fabric to make a top or the sandwiched quilt ready to be quilted and bound.  Help the Volunteer committee sew  "Victoria Quilters' Guild" labels onto the finished quilts at Stitch Days once per month.

The baby quilts should measure 34-36" wide by 44-46" long.  The  quilts are placed over the isolets to protect the babies from the harsh glare of the hospital lights.  The bright colours add warmth and cheer to the unit. These quilts will get a lot of washing, therefore, should be well quilted.  We use the size of a clenched fist as a quick guide, or no more than 3
1/2 - 4" apart between quilting lines.
