How to Quilt a Quilt on your Home Sewing Machine             with Barbara Shapel

March 9/10 2010 at Poplar Room - Saanich Fair grounds - $150 (15 students)

This workshop is for quilters of all experience levels who want to improve their ability to quilt by machine. If you are stuck at stitch in the ditch, this is the class for you. If you want inspiration to bring your current quilting designs to the next level, this class is for you too.

On day 1, students will be asked to bring quilt tops (max number 3). Barbara will lead the group in defining a quilting design for each top. A design will be based on skill-level of quilter, use of quilt, time available to do the quilting. Batting choices, basting choices and marking choices will be discussed. Students will sandwich their quilts with supervision during the afternoon of the first day. On the second day students will learn about needles, thread choices. Students will be quilting their quilts the second day with Barbara to help and guide.

Note:  Basting spray will be used.  We will use the spray outside and then carry
the sprayed piece inside for use.
