“Call of the Heartwood: My Creative Journey with Trees”
Textile artist Lorraine Roy will present her artistic journey in words and pictures as she describes how trees wove their way into her art and her heart. Lorraine will describe the variety of non-traditional fabric and thread techniques that have evolved over her 40-year career, and will present a PowerPoint show of her pieces.
Lorraine earned a BSc in Agriculture from U of Guelph and has exhibited in solo and group shows across Canada, the U.S., and internationally, including touring exhibitions and prestigious venues. She is the recipient of numerous awards, and her work is featured in private, public, and corporate collections worldwide.
