This is a terrific way to meet other Guild members.
Stitch Days are on the second Thursday of the month (dates may vary in the summer) from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm in person
Come and bring any stitching project: hand or machine. There are tables for laying out and basting larger projects.
No project? Come anyway and see what’s going on in the world of quilting, sew labels onto completed baby quilts or exchange books at the library.
The Victoria Community Comfort Quilts Society committee are always in need of help preparing quilt kits and sewing labels onto baby quilts to take to the hospital.
Bring a mug and we will make the tea and coffee! And a big thank you to those who bring goodies. Always welcome!
Some Stitch Days will have mini workshops and projects for those in attendance. Keep an eye on our Events for new and exciting Stitch Day projects. Come out and learn the details. Hope to see you there!
Guests are welcome to attend Stitch Days. A guest pass for attending a Stitch Day is $5 and payable in cash at the door.

JUST WING IT
The next Victoria Quilters’ Guild mini project
Mission statement:
A project for all guild members to participate in.
All entries will be displayed.
Encourage fresh ideas along with favourite techniques. A chance for members to try something new that they have been thinking about. It is small, so not a huge commitment.
Shop local brick and mortar shops, thrift stores/upcycling, and use the stash, the good stuff.
No rules except for size, 3 layers and faced edges.
Potential for display opportunities, next quilt show, for calendar and note card production with potential guild revenue.
Instructions/Rules:
- It must consist of the usual 3 layers.
- Finished Size – 20” by 16”, landscape orientation. (note – start with fabric 22” by 18” so there is room to trim and add facing later)
- The edges finished with a facing (not a binding)
- Must have a 3” sleeve, sewn across the top for hanging
- Have a label with your name and phone number stitched on the back.
- Hand it in before, or by Stitch Day, April 2027
Selection of quilts for calendar use will be voted on at a Stitch Day by the membership.
Suggestions for inspiration
Any type of bird or flock of birds, from anywhere in the world.
Fantasy bird shapes, bird houses, feathers, etc.
Winged Insects, because they are also a part of the natural world.
- Demos on several techniques will happen at Thursday Stitch Days.
Techniques may involve any of the following:
Traditional, Contemporary, Art
Machine and/or hand stitching
Curved piecing
Paper piecing
Appliqué – traditional or raw edge
Landscape, Abstract, etc.
Embellishments
